Well, having been on AOL for a little over 2 months and having confined myself almost solely to Trivia, I have met many wonderful people who have inspired me to offer this insight into who MeCookie really is:
I was born on December 19, 1970 in Cincinatti, Ohio. When I was two, I moved to Indianapolis, IN, and when I was three we moved to Miami, FL. I lived in Miami (and later N. Miami Beach, a suburb slightly to the north) for a total of 14 years, graduating (albeit much later) from North Miami Beach Sr. High, the same high school that Funky attended.
When I graduated, I went on to college at Northwestern University. That same year, my parents moved to West Bloomfield, MI (suburb of Detroit). I have never been able to consider this "home", since I never really laid down any roots here.
In June of '92, I graduated from Northwestern with a degree in English. Although that's helpful in Trivia, it don't count for squat in the real world. After some thought, I decided I wanted to teach, and in September of '92 began a Master's program in Elementary ed. at Washington University in St. Louis. I graduated in December of '93, and have been in my so-called home in W. Bloomfield since then, searching for jobs for next fall. Hopefully one of the school districts in the Atlanta area will accept my application.
I'm spending this summer (as I've spent the last 3) working at a Reform Jewish summer camp in Utica, MS (yes, there *are* Jews in Mississippi). I'm hoping to bring my computer and modem with me, so I can have some contact with my AOL trivia friends.
Let's see...I am not currently in a relationship, since I was burned very badly by my last one. That's behind me now, and I'm ready to begin again with the right woman.
When I grow up, I want to be a child...I hope to always remain young at heart. My interests include reading, writing (especially for children), trivia, television, and Jim Henson's Muppets (I think the man was a genius who died far too soon.)
Someday I hope to have the money to play a trivia game every nite of the week, but right now my budget is sadly limited. Still, if you wait, you'll encounter me sometime- if not in a game, then in the forum. Or maybe someday you'll get a chance to read the trivia poetry book which I compiled and edited.
Well, I've been rambling on for too long now. Hope you enjoyed this glimpse of who I am. You triviots are really a marvelous bunch of people and I'm glad I found you all.
